Prisons Ministry | Rehabilitation & Spiritual Support

Sharing Christ’s hope, restoration, and dignity with inmates and ex-offenders

Prisons Ministry

The Prisons Ministry has served for over a decade, reaching inmates with hope, discipleship, and practical support across Kenya. With outreach to 25 prison institutions in the Nairobi, Rift Valley, Eastern, and Central regions, the ministry seeks to mold character, restore dignity, and support reintegration for men and women in custody.

Grounded in Christ’s call to walk with the marginalized, the ministry provides mentorship, mediation, spiritual teaching, and essential supplies — ensuring that inmates and ex-offenders experience care, compassion, and a path toward renewed purpose.

What We Do

Guidance, Counseling & Discipleship
The team delivers faith-based programs through:

  1. Guidance and counseling
  2. Weekday discipleship classes
  3. Mediation and reconciliation sessions
  4. Sunday services and spiritual encouragement
These engagements help shape character, restore emotional health, and strengthen spiritual foundations.

Reintegration & Transition Support
The ministry walks with inmates who are nearing release, helping them prepare to re-enter society with dignity.
Support includes:
  1. Structured reintegration guidance
  2. Prison-to-community mediation with families
  3. Connecting ex-offenders to community support networks
  4. Continued discipleship and mentorship where possible
This reintegration work is a defining strength of the ministry.

Essential Supplies & Practical Support
Inmates often lack access to basic necessities. The ministry helps meet these needs by providing:

  1. Tissue paper, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes
  2. Clothes (especially for remandees)
  3. Sanitary towels and undergarments
  4. Shaving machines
  5. Sanitizers
  6. Fumigation services
This practical help restores dignity and aligns with the ministry’s holistic approach to care.

Awareness & Recovery Support (Rehab Ministry Component)
The ministry also implements:
  1. Awareness campaigns on rehabilitation and recovery
  2. Holistic support mechanisms for individuals overcoming substance dependence
  3. Support for families affected by incarceration and addiction
This integrated approach strengthens families and communities even beyond prison walls.
